Once I have more information, I will share it with you.

This is due, not to a change in the actual definition of an outbreak but, to the fact that more than half of the schools fit the former criteria and I don't have time to input them all every day.

Now, it is calculated by taking the sum of the new DCPS cases for the past seven days divided by the sum of the new DC cases for the past seven days. This has been updated in the relevant chart.

As such, I have altered my charts to make 10/19/21 read as a total of 713 student cases (and resultingly 929 total DCPS cases).   • Spent time verifying data and doing quality control. I found corrections of various natures which are listed in more detail on the update archive page. Many but not all of these corrections only affected the case list and not any of the graphs or statistics.

    • Corrected data entry error from yesterday (9/24) that incorrectly listed the case from Brookland was last in the building on 9/1.; it now reads 9/20.

Updates on 9/24:

  • Corrected a typo on the case distribution table. It previously read that there had been 1 school with 12 cases so far. Instead, it should have read 1 school with 13 cases. Later in the evening, this school was updated to 16 cases so correction is now irrelevant.

  • Corrected error (source unknown) that produced incorrect numbers on a scale of 3 to 5 thousandths in the average cases per school graph
